Sunlove Tanning Scam

SO, in the fall of 2009, I ordered the Sunlove Tanning system after seeing countless reviews online and on youtube. They advertised a sale and I saw a chance to order it. I placed my order and they sent me an email to confirm that they got my order, then they sent another email as a receipt and the funds came out of my account. The cost was roughly $40.00 which is less than some self tanner such at the St. Tropez mousse but still it was a lot more costly than all the drugstore tanners.

After about a week, I still had not gotten an email telling me when it would be shipped out to me. I sent an email to the Sunlove customer service and they replied that their shipping department took longer than most websites.

Another month went by without receiving it, so I called the number on the website and it went straight to voicemail. No one ever called me back. Mind you, they charged me for $40.00 and never told me when I would get my order.

I found another email contact from something within the company and he told me there was a "robbery" within the company so they were unable to access some accounts. That was in December, roughly TWO months after they charged me. I still have been unable to get ahold of anyone and they refuse to reply to me with an answer about my order.

This company is a sham and they will take your money and not send an order out. Back when Sunlove was making its rounds of Youtube in the spring/summer of 2009, a lot of very popular gurus made reviews on the Sunlove System. Since then, they have all taken down their reviews. I have also seen plenty of other people complaining online about their customer service and how they verbally abuse their customers. They had been doing this on their Twitter account, which was cleared of all posts a few months back, right around the time they scammed me.

Well, after FOUR months of not receiving my order, I started getting ads in my email about new products and new special offers. To say the least, I was not pleased that they still hadn't sent my order but they have the nerve to send me ads as if I will every buy anything from them again.

I found their twitter was back up so I though maybe if I asked about my order there, they would reply. Instead, they did not answer me as any normal good company would. In fact, they deleted my posts to their page!!

The bottom line is, do your research. They will rip you off and then never treat you like a real customer. I wish I had bought the St. Tropez Tanning Mousse instead of the Sunlove.

  1. Do NOT take this down. People need to see this. Everything you said it true. You waited over 4 months with no word from them. Don't let them sweet talk you into taking this blog down. Even if you get the product and like it... other people need to hear what you went through.

  2. oh i know.... its very sad that they will ask people on twitter if they want to try it for free but will not send it to paying customers. Its so unprofessional. They ask for private order and shipping info on twitter? "sure, i'll post my info on the internet...." and they blame it on "a hacker" well, if my facebook or myspace or email got hacked, the first thing I'm going to do is notify all my friends and contacts. I do not get why a company would not do the same.

  3. I Agree that the service blows. It took my sunlove over a month to get to me but I did like the product itself. They really just need to hire new people to work for them and get their s**t straight. I am hoping that they are getting that taken care of cause I need a new aircan.

  4. Seriously, I would not believe for once second they got hacked. They have been using that since Sept...and it's now Febuary. They didn't get hacked. They are stealing from people. They should have record of every sale, e-mail and credit card. It's just one evil man who is sick and twisted who is trying to scam people and I do think this company should be shut down. I bet over 100 people have been waiting months and months for their product with NO word... when this company has already spend their hard earned money on only God knows what. I think you need to find everyone you know who has had this problem and shut him down. It's a fraud company who is stealing people. This should not be.

  5. What a crappy company. I have heard only bad things about them and saw them give out shedloads of abuse and racist comments to people. They're a joke! I'd call Watchdog if I were you. x

  6. I ordered blindly without reading these comments first, it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't seen my order. Don't bother to call the phone number listed on their site, since you won't ever get a live person or having your voice mail answered, I even send 2 emails and still no reply.

My god! I ordered something from Hong Kong at the same time and it arrived after one week. Don't buy from Sunlove, customer service is the pit and they will steal your money.

  8. Wow, its nice to know I'm not the only one. It's been nearly a year and I haven't received my products yet. I've sent numerous emails and finally got a response back asking for the email of the receipt. I forwarded the receipt and never heard back. I really didn't know what else to do. I was angry of course. For a moment there I thought I was probably the only person in the world who hasn't received her products.

I agree with you too that after they "stole my money" they dared to send me emails of promotions going on and claimed that the products are "in stock" now. I even tried communicating with them on Twitter too but everything gets deleted. Bunch of bullcrap.

  9. I was a victim of their verbal abuse as well! Last year, SunLove was running a contest on YouTube where you were supposed to make a video saying what you loved about the product, so I did. I said how much I loved the product, but then I gave some constructive criticism. After I entered my video in the contest, I started getting harassed and threatened by the company. I ended up taking that particular video off of my channel because according to the rules of the contest, they owned my video after I submitted it. I am seriously considering making another video! It is completely legal to use a company's name in order to give your opinion on their product and they tried to tell me that I wasn't allowed to say their name in a video. It was awful, I saved all of their comments and emails too.
